报告描述
The great medicine market scale in the world provides a vast market space for the development of the medicine packaging industry. The global medicine market will annually increase by 6.3% and the market scale thereof will increase from USD22.3 billion in 2004 to USD30.2 billion in 2009.  Wherein, the demands of injectors and injection syringes grow fastest in the medicine packaging market, but plastic bottles still occupy the largest market share of the medicine packaging market. It is predicted that the medicine packaging demand of the North America market will realize an average annual growth rate of 7.3% and the market scale thereof will reach USD11 billion in 2009; that of the Asian-Pacific region will realize an average annual growth rate of 7.7% and the market scale thereof will reach USD8 billion in 2009; that of Western Europe is relatively slow, with an average annual growth rate of 4.2% and the market scale thereof will reach USD8.4 billion in 2009. The developed countries (Western Europe, North America and Japan) always occupy 66% of the total market share of the global packaging market. But the countries with the fastest market growth are Brazil, Russia, India, China, Turkey and Indonesia in sequence. The European soft packaging market will realize about USD76 billion in 2010, wherein, medicine soft packaging is about USD2.2 billion and the growth rate of 5.8% thereof is the fast growth in the European packaging market.
Comparison Chart of World Wide Market Capability of Packages for Different Applications

Sources: Huajing Viewpoint Research Center
At present, the medicine packaging industry of China has more than 2000 enterprises which can produce 6 classifications of medicine packaging materials with more than 30 types, can basically meet the demand of China’s medicine manufacturing industry and has an annual sales amount accounting for about 15% of the sales amount of the whole medicine industry. At present, the annual output value of China’s medicine packaging industry is about RMB15 billion with a year-on-year growth rate more than 10%. The next five years will be the key period of the rapid development of China’s medicine packaging industry. At present, the annual output value of China’s medicine packaging industry is about RMB15 billion, which only can meet about 80% of the demand of China’s medicine manufacturing enterprises; in 2007, the market volume of China’s medicine packaging has reached RMB16.37 billion, which has occupied 12.4% of the output value of China’s packing industry and been higher than the proportion for which the medicine manufacturing industry accounts of the total output value of China’s industry. According to the developing speed of China’s medicine industry in recent years, the total annual output value of medicine packaging materials will rapidly break through RMB20 billion in a short term. In next 5 years, the global medicine packaging market will become the second largest economic growth point of soft packaging and China will have the fastest growth speed.
In recent years, China’s medicine packaging industry grows fast, but still lags behind the development of the medicine industry; particularly, compared with the endlessly emerging new dosage forms, the matching medicine packaging materials develop too slowly and can not adapt to the demand of new medicine’s development. At present, 65% of the medicine packaging of total dosage in China does not reach the international level of 1980s and the contribution rate of packaging material quality and package to the medicine industry is relative low; the medicine packaging accounts for 30% of medicine value in developed countries, but accounts for less than 10% in China.
Aluminum, plastic and glass still coexist in China’s medicine packaging market. China’s medicine packaging industry is developing towards standard and scale direction. China continuously improves and renews medicine packaging machine and materials and the medicine packaging industry will have new prospect. Currently, some medicine enterprises in China adopt paper products to package medicine, thus causing medicines to be easy to be damped and blotted. Relative advanced heat shrinkable films are internationally adopted for packaging and this kind of package has high strength, good transparence, beautiful appearance, damp and dust proofing and low cost. Class-A material is commonly and internationally adopted to serve as the packaging material of pharmaceutical glass; this kind of material has stable physical property and can effectively protect the chemical performance of medicines; the fracture surface of the breaking part of a china bottle is smooth without any tiny crevice, which can not be realized with Class-B material. In China, except some joint venture enterprises and large state-owned enterprises using the Class-A material, most enterprises still use Class-B material for medicine packaging and pharmaceutical glass production enterprises still use Class-B material. The reason for this phenomenon lies in that the packaging material can not upgrade on time, and the medicine packaging material enterprises living on low profit lack comprehensive consideration of "input" and "output". At present, except some enterprises in China, only Vietnam and North Korea still use Class-B material. China may possibly cancel the usage of Class-B material within next five years. Owning to the fact that manufacturers shift the competition focus from price to quality and new technology, the market price of China’s medicine package medicine packaging tends to be stable. However, the differentiation of medium and small brands and commonly low profit are not improved and the Matthew effect of competition sharply drives the medicine packaging market of China to develop into concentration and integration. The package change in 2007 increases the packaging cost of medicine packaging enterprises, thereby causing the change in brand promotion methods; the competition pattern of the medicine packaging market will face another shuffling.
The report also describes the operation environment of China’s medicine packaging industry in detail and focuses on researching and predicting the development of the downstream industries and the long-term and short-term trend of changes in the downstream industry’s demand for medicine packaging. Aiming at the opportunity and risk that the current development of the industry faces, the suggestions on the investment and strategies of the medicine packaging industry’s development are put forth. The report helps the medicine packaging industry correctly master the development trend of the industry and correctly make competition strategy and investment strategy with precise content, faithful data and intuitive figure. Our main data is from authoritative professional research institutions, such as the State Statistics Bureau, State Information Center, General Administration of Customs, China Pharmaceutical Packaging Association, and the on-site investigation of our center. The report integrates the data source and expert source of many authoritative institutions, extracts precise and really worthy information from many data and combines with the environment of the industry to study and analyze from various points of view, such as theory, practice, macro and micro, and the like; the conclusion and ideas of the report unify perspectiveness, practicality and feasibility. This report is deliberately prepared by the expert group of our center after market investigation and data collection and takes one year. It is one of the decision-making basis for enterprises of the industry, relevant investment companies and government to correctly master industry development trend, know the competition pattern of the industry clearly, get rid of operation and investment risk and make great competition and investment strategies, thereby having important reference value.
